Weight Loss Motivation! 5 Quick Tips To Help Motivate You To Start Exercising!

Weight Loss Motivation

Sometimes, we may need some MOTIVATION to get started doing something new…

So many of our patients tell us that they are embarrassed to go to the gym… STOP!!! You are there and that is the very first step! We are all there for the same reasons.. If you do not feel comfortable starting out at a gym, you can find other ways of incorporating exercise in to your life.

1. It is ok to Start Slow…

Slow and steady wins the race! It is ok to take breaks. Try to engage in 30-40 minutes of exercise at least 4 times per week, but you can break it up as needed. Doing too much too fast may cause injuries. Try 10 minutes 3 times per day. Slowly you will see your stamina increase and be able to engage in continuous cardiovascular activity.

2. Increase your daily activity!

Every little bit counts! Track your steps with a pedometer or fit bit so you can monitor your progress. Sneak in some steps…Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park further away, walk to the local store or walk to pick up the kids at the bus stop instead of driving.

3.Find what you love. You don’t have to be in the gym to be active!

Walk, take a class at the gym, dance, ride a bicycle, belly dance, yoga, swim, play a Wii or X Box favorite exercise video, Utube exercise videos, play a sport, run around the playground with the kids!

4.Buy some fun work out gear!!

Bright colored athletic clothes or a new pair of comfortable sneakers might do the trick!

5.Buddy Up!!

Start an exercise routine with a friend,co worker or family member..

Take a walk at work during your break..Meet a friend at the park after work and take a walk or take an exercise class together. Sometimes all you need is a little motivation from each other to keep up the routine!

Once you feel Motivated, you are able start…. Keep doing your exercise over and over, you have now formed a wonderful habit!!!! The more you keep it up, the more motivation you will have to continue!!!!
