Our evaluation includes a specific lab panel (assessing levels not usually obtained during routine labs) as well as an Inbody analysis which provides us insight into your body composition, % body fat, BMR or amount of calories you burn at rest, etc. We then tailor a plan geared towards your objectives with an emphasis on nutrition, exercise, and hormone optimization.
Many men accept that lower libido, less muscle tone, more weight gain and more erectile dysfunction are simply the consequences of aging. But, they don’t have to be.
With age management, you can get back to looking and feeling your best at any age while cutting your risk for age-related conditions.
What Is Age Management?
As the male body ages, it produces less testosterone. That, in turn, leads to a lower sex drive, sexual problems, mental health issues like irritability and even depression, muscle loss (known as age-related sarcopenia), weight gain and more.
Age management attempts to soften these degenerative effects of aging by treating them using hormone replacement therapy, or HRT. In men, the hormone in question is testosterone, so the treatment is commonly referred to as testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
Are You a Candidate for Age Management?
Learn to recognize the signs of low testosterone (also called low-T). Any single symptom on its own is not necessarily indicative of low-T, but a number of them together may signal declining testosterone production.
- Concentration problems
- Decline in muscle mass
- Depression
- Difficulty keeping an erection
- Fatigue
- Fewer erections
- Gynecomastia
- Hot flashes
- Low libido
- Weight gain
Symptoms and the low testosterone levels as shown by the test usually must both be present to be prescribed TRT. Many men with low levels of testosterone as per the blood test do not have symptoms and therefore do not need TRT.
However, if you are experiencing any of these symptoms, contact us for an assessment to see if TRT is right for you.
How Hormone Replacement Therapy Works
Testosterone is an androgen and is often thought of as the “male” hormone, though women do have varying small amounts in their bodies. It is produced in the testicles and is important for:
- Bone production
- Facial and body hair
- Muscle mass
- Red blood cell production
- Sex drive
- Sperm production
Starting at about age 30, testosterone production begins to decline by roughly one percent per year. To counteract this, doctors can prescribe artificial testosterone to get the levels back up. Testosterone can come in multiple forms, such as:
- Injections
- Pellet implants
- Skin patches
- Topical gels
Oral testosterone is sometimes prescribed for TRT as an off-label use, which means it is not a use approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In January 2018, the FDA declined to approve a testosterone pill for TRT, not because it was ineffective but because officials were concerned about possible negative effects on the heart (specifically blood pressure).
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)
The BioTE method of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) uses pellets that contain either bioidentical testosterone or estrogen. BHRT is a way to bioidentically replace the hormones men and women lose over the course of their lives. We use BHRT to balance hormones in a way that helps patients reclaim their health. Each patient’s pellet therapy is customized specifically to their needs based on extensive lab work and an office visit with a certified BioTE provider. Pellets are placed subcutaneously (just beneath the skin) in a nonsurgical insertion. They then release a continuous stream of bioidentical hormones for three to six months, during which the pellets are absorbed into the body. Pellet therapy is paired with the BioTE-backed nutraceutical line CORE+, created specifically to supplement BHRT and help improve hormone health.
Age Healthier With Balanced Hormones:
As the body ages, it undergoes various hormonal changes that can affect health. Some of the common symptoms of hormonal imbalance include weight gain, memory decline, fatigue, and muscle loss. Bioidentical hormones may restore hormones to their optimal levels.

Benefits of Age Management
Age management is not the mythical Fountain of Youth—you won’t magically become your 20-year-old self again. However, it can elevate your sex drive and energy levels, help you lose weight and even keep you competitive in the weight room or the basketball court (provided you recognize your limits).
